Bottle Text: Never was and never since has there been a hunter such as Orion. Beloved by men, friend to gods, the hero spent his days hunting beasts both mundane and fantastical. Proving his worth great enough to hunt alongside the goddess Aretmis—goddess of the hunt itself—Orion drew the jealousy of Artemis’ brother Apollo, who feared losing his sister’s constant companionship to a mortal man. One night, while Orion slept, Apollo sent down an colossal scorpion to kill the great hunter. Startled awake, Orion’s natural instincts kicked in and he fought with all his might. All night the two sparred, metal claninging against chitinous armor—but in the end Orion was bested by the celestial scorpion, ending his life and his yet undefeated score. Artemis, so distraught by the death of her friend, asked Zeus, king of gods, to place him forever among the stars. There he stands today in all his glory—the man, the myth, the legend himself. When we at Highlands set out to create a rye whiskey, we took inspiration from our demigod on high and hunted for the perfect recipe, the right blend of rye, wheat, and barley to create the whiskey we had always dreamed about. With single minded purpose, we ground grain, distilled spirits, and, like a hunter stalking their prey, waited patiently for it to mature. This bottle contains more than just rye whiskey, it carries the history of all the moments that led to its creation, the stories from thousands of years, and a determination to create a spirit with unparalleled craftsmanship.
